A Typical Day

A typical NC Fresh Catch show might go like this:

(Raleigh) We purchase fresh seafood from the fish houses and fishermen in Wanchese, Swan Quarter, Englehard, Ocracoke, and from inland seafood businesses like Locals Seafood and Simply Fresh. We then purchase produce and fresh meats from local farmers markets and farms like Green Button Farms.  We then go to neighborhood bakeries like Yellow Dog Bakery where we pick up fresh baguettes and rolls.  We delivery all this directly to the event site in Raleigh where a crew of caterers and cooks from surrounding restaurants including Battistella’s, Plates and 18 Seaboard are waiting to make low a country boil, fried and grilled fish plates, steamer baskets, BBQ pork sliders and more.  The crowd starts to gather, tickets in hand, to hear the fabulous music line-up we’ve arranged and get a plate of fresh NC seafood brought right to them. Because we try to hire local people and engage local businesses, people’s tickets support their own communities as well as our fishermen on the coast.  And on top of that partial event proceeds go directly to a local nonprofit!
