Chef Brian Battistella


Chef B: It all began on the shores of Lake Ponchartrain in New Orleans where I grew up fishing and hunting. Fresh and delicious aromas from the kitchen were commonplace. I always enjoyed preparing family dinners using the daily fresh catch! Great food is focal point for this New Orleanian. As I grew older so did my love for cooking served with my own style of Deep South hospitality. I worked my way through some of the most famous kitchens in New Orleans and survived four years at the world renowned Commanders Palace where I trained under two James Beard award winning chefs. In 2005 I relocated to Raleigh after Hurricane Katrina where I opened a small catering company and then a full service restaurant in 2008. In 2011 Battistella’s Classic New Orleans and Upscale Southern Cuisine opened in downtown Raleigh’s City Market and it quickly became a customer favorite. Today my relationship with some of the best farmers and local suppliers enable me to offer my expertise and passion.
