1718 Ocracoke Brewing

718_Logo_thumb1718 Ocracoke Brewing, Ocracoke Island, Outer Banks NC. We love fresh, delicious beer and all it represents in our world.  We love living on a remote Island accessible only by boat or plane.  We love celebrations: a feast, a surprise, a daring adventure, game-changers.  We love the perfect beer on a hot summer’s day and the perfect beer on a crisp fall evening. We love beach fires, sweaters, flip-flops and jeans, oyster roasts and clam bakes and Barrier Islands!  We love to keep it simple, yet spectacular…and we love to share!

Bull City Ciderworks

BCCWGREAT CIDER. NO BULL! The BULL doesn’t play by the rules. Hard cider doesn’t have to be sickeningly sweet and taste artificial. Our ciders are made with 100% apple juice and never back-sweetened with high fructose corn syrup, so you taste the apple in all its glory! Gluten-free yeast and ingredients ensure a naturally gluten-free cider. We’re crafting unique ciders that bridge the gap between wine and beer. Honey, black tea, hops, ginger, tart cherries, bacon, candy corn and hibiscus allow us to redefine cider. The BULL is bucking the trend of mainstream ciders. Taste the revolution!

Official Launch Party of MeyerCraft Planetary Elixirs (non-alcoholic)

Elixirs-webPlanetary Elixirs is borne of the idea that an exploration of world-culture flavor combinations can be an exciting springboard for culinary adventure! Why stop with Jamaica Roselle? What about other, complimentary flavors, from other cultural recipes and influences? And so the adventure begins…What’s next? Shhhhh!!!! (Can’t tell you just yet.)

I am Scott Meyer; creator of these “outside the box” drinks. From an early age, I’ve been consumed with fermentation. From a keen interest in bread dough rising in my mothers’ kitchen to slurping down apple juice gone fizzy, to the discovery that unpasteurized grape juice left to its own devices, turns to wine! Naturally, these musings led to explorations down related career paths. While attending the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, I also landed a job as a “cellar rat” in a Bay Area winery. Over the next ten years I was a wine maker at several Central Coast, California small wineries. Later, after five years of selling wines and spirits to top accounts in San Francisco, I jumped headlong into the emerging Craft brewing movement and took charge of brewing at Bison Brewing Company in Berkeley were I began exploring unique flavor possibilities with such artfully crafted ales as Coriander Rye Ale, Honey Basil Ale, LemonGrass Wheat, Ginger Bread Ale, and more. Since opening in 2001, I’ve been Brewmaster at the Outer Banks Brewing Station in Kill Devil Hills, where my pride and joy is in my very special bottling projects. All the while, I’ve also been experimenting with fermented infusions, which brings us to the present offerings before you.
